Overview

Since 2010, Boiler Room has built a unique archive that spans 8,000 performances by more than 5,000 artists across 200 cities. In this highly-anticipated Singapore edition, we brought the house down at Pasir Panjang with an electrifying all-female lineup namely Jyoty, XIAOLIN, Paurro, A/K/A, and AYA brought the house down—in true Boiler Room fashion, this event became an avenue that told stories from our fringes, connecting the local dance floor to the wider world.

Challenge

The stakes were high with this event as its success directly impacts Boiler Room's future in the city. Significant financial pressures, due to the absence of major sponsors, placed a heavy reliance on ticket sales. Adding to these challenges, X3D Studio, a blank canvas with no prior event history, presented unique logistical hurdles. Additionally, curating a compelling lineup posed a critical challenge: balancing established and emerging local talent to captivate a global audience. This required representing the authentic soul of Singapore’s underground music scene, demanding careful consideration and bold choices.

Solution

To mitigate financial risks, a phased ticketing approach was implemented, spearheaded by the Boiler Room HQ, which worked remarkably to heighten excitement and drive early sales. We also focused on securing partnerships with brands that aligned with the event’s ethos, ensuring support was met while complementing the spirit of the Boiler Room. On the venue end, we place the focus on technical expertise and meticulous planning to create a Boiler Room haven from a raw industrial space. Finally, we curated a bold, all-female lineup, a first for Boiler Room, that brings out the best of international and local talent and amplifying the event’s cultural impact.

Execution

We transformed X3D Studio into a pulsating, immersive space using cutting-edge lighting and sound, creating a visceral experience for guests. Our meticulous crowd management ensured smooth flow from arrival to departure. The strategic ticketing plan, expertly timed, drove rapid sales, and our brand partnerships enhanced the event's authenticity. We delivered a revolutionary cultural exchange with the all-female lineup, leaving an indelible mark on Singapore's music scene. We are proud to have orchestrated every detail, from the venue's transformation and artist coordination to the integration of technical elements and audience engagement, solidifying Boiler Room's position as a curator of groundbreaking musical experiences in the city.
